As a result of various researches carried out around the world, it has been determined that bacteria and viruses that cause epidemics can hang in the air for about 3 hours after coughing or sneezing, depending on the environment and the structure of the organism, and can survive on the surface as droplets for 3 days.
With the Coronavirus entering our lives and with the discovery that the virus is transmitted through the air; The quality of the inhaled air has also become much more important. For this reason, it has become important to implement radical changes in the air conditioning and ventilation systems of homes, workplaces, shopping malls, hotels, hospitals, and large spaces.
In the Infrared Antiviral Project carried out jointly by Tübitak UME and Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, which started in March 2020, the effects of Far-wave (dark infrared) infrared rays on micro-organisms such as bacteria, viruses and fungal spores are being investigated.
The first findings obtained within the scope of this research are that the effect of Far-wave Infrared rays to kill Bacteria and Viruses is promising.
Since traditional heating systems are convection-based “heat transfer with air”, they increase the risk of contamination even more under current pandemic conditions. However, since Kuas far-wave heat panels (ISP Series) work with radiation, they not only heat the ambient air by leaving it stagnant but also enable the micro-organisms in the air and the droplets on the surface to dry faster.
In this context, Kuas Teknoloji acts in cooperation in the project with its knowledge in the field of Dark Infrared for more than 12 years.
